do medals matter?

  1. Simon, Your finishes tend to inspire people like no other. I heard a second-hand account of your Sidney win from a fellow runner during a track workout and it put a spring in my step. Did NOT matter you weren't competing for our team. Hell, I wasn't even doing tris back then. And there was Beijing where you proved it and Des Moines this year, which decorates a few walls and wallpapers. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the photo and results the next day. But how could I have doubted was the real issue.

I think it's the fact that you win from behind, (or from on your arse in Sidney) when it seems improbable. It's the determination, confidence, and persistence that inspires. The process and talent that allows you to achieve those wins is also breathtaking to witness. THANKS MON!

  2. It's all about the goosebumps. Get them everytime I watch you race. Getting them for a few other reasons beside sport since the boy was born. Quite often now, pretty freaky sometimes. Sensitive?????????

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Makes me feel even safe and confident when heading out of the door to look for what I want!
